Tours of the Alabama State House and Capitol

Tours provide an excellent educational experience for students and other groups. Rep. Ward will be happy to make arrangements for groups to have a tour of the Capitol, State House, and other points of interest regarding our state government.

To assist us in making the proper arrangements, please provide the following information:

  • Type of group
  • Age and number of people in group
  • Preferred date(s) and time of visit
  • Any specific requests or needs
  • Group's contact name and phone number where we can respond.

Assistance with State Agencies

If you need assistance with an Alabama State agency or have another state-government related question or problem, Rep Ward will try his best to help you. it will be helpful if you provide a brief overview of the problem that you need assistance with along with the names and positions of officials that you have had any previous contact with concerning this matter.

Arranging a Classroom Visit

It is imperative that our children understand and appreciate how our government works. To that end, Rep Ward would be happy to make a personal visit to classrooms in District 49 to discuss and explain the state legislative process, why he decided to get involved and answer any question the students may have.

To arrange for Rep Ward to be a guest speaker in your school, please provide us with the following information:

  • School name
  • Classroom grade level
  • Number of students in the class
  • Preferred date(s) and time(s)
  • Brief background of how much the students (if any) have been taught about the Alabama legislature prior to the visit
  • Any other information that Rep Ward will need to know in preparing for his visit.
  • Teacher's name and phone number

Serving as a Page in the Alabama State House of Representatives

Working as a page is an excellent way for students to learn more about the legislative process. Rep Ward will be happy to submit names of interested and deserving young men and ladies from District 49 to have the opportunity to serve as pages. Please keep in mind that page slots fill up quickly, and requests should be made as far in advance as possible. Pages must be at least 10 years of age and no older than 21.

Please provide us with the following information:

  • Name of the individual interested in serving as a Page
  • Age and school grade
  • Name of school
  • Name and telephone of teacher or principal that can provide information about the applicant
  • Parent's name, home address and daytime phone number
  • Applicant's activities and honors
  • Brief description (50 words or less) of why applicant is interested in serving as a Page in the Alabama House of Representatives

  • Tonight I will be visiting the Helena Civitan fundraiser before going over to McCalla for a Vol Fire Dept meeting. A busy start back!
  • Riley & I are at Nino's Restaurant in Pelham. Helena Civitan fundraiser for children in Pelham & Helena area. Great for a good cause.
  • Finished up long day by speaking to the McAdory Vol Fire Dept tonight in McCalla. Looking forward to representing them for next 4 yrs
