Independent Insurance Agents Award Cam Ward Legislator of the Year

Independent Insurance Agents Award Cam Ward Legislator of the Year

(MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA)—The Alabama Independent Insurance Association today awarded Representative Cam Ward (R-Alabaster) “Legislator of the Year” for his support of issues important to the insurance industry and small businesses in Alabama. At an event in Montgomery Thursday, Rep. Ward received the recognition from the Association.

In presenting the award, Rux Bentley of Columbiana, member of the Association’s Board of Directors, said, "Cam has been a good legislator for Shelby County and a great friend for a long time. He is a real friend of small business in Alabama."

Representative Ward expressed gratitude for receiving the award and added, “Your Association epitomizes what small business is all about—providing jobs, offering services and stimulating the economies of every town in Alabama. Independent agents are often pillars of the community, and that is why I am honored to receive this award.”

Cam Ward was elected to the Alabama House of Representatives in 2002 to represent District 49, which includes parts of Bibb and Shelby Counties. Mr. Ward, his wife Julie and daughter Riley are residents of Alabaster.
